Steps of the Fact-Finding Procedure When a Student Is Accused

The steps of the fact-finding procedure followed when a student is accused of engaging in harassment are set forth in the UCLA Student Conduct Code (available as a PDF file at the Dean of Students web site) and UCLA Procedure 630.1:  Responding to Reports of Sexual Harassment.

In summary, the steps include

  • Considering interim protections

  • Obtaining information from both the complainant and the accused

  • Gathering evidence from other sources, as appropriate

  • Generating a written report

  • Informing the complainant and the accused of findings
